MACAU--VISIT TO ANOTHER COUNTRY

MACAU: A PORTUGUESE ISLAND NEAR HONG KONG. WE TOOK A FAST FERRY TO THE ISLAND FOR THE DAY. IT WAS BEAUTIFUL. IT HAS A LOT OF CASINOS THERE AND LOTS OF HISTORY. WE TOURED ON FOOT AND ENJOYED THE DAY... WE MET SOME MISSIONARIES WORKING THERE AND THEY TOOK US TO THE CHAPEL A COUPLE OF BLOCKS FROM WHERE THEY WERE STREET CONTACTING/TRACTING.

WE VISITED THE HISTORICAL SITE, AN OLD CHURCH WALL WHICH BURNED DOWN MANY YEARS AGO AND HAS BEEN TURNED INTO A WALL MUSEUM.

THEY SPEAK PORTUGUESE HERE.

WE FOUND A SERENE SITE ATOP OF THE HUGE HILL IN THE CENTER OF TOWN WHICH ALREADY LOOKED LIKE A TEMPLE SITE. IT WAS AWESOME AND WE COMMENTED THAT THE REFECTION POND THERE WAS CLEARLY A KNOCK OFF OF TEMPLE SQUARE IN SALT LAKE CITY. A BEAUTIFUL, QUIET, TOURIST SITE.

WE LOST THIS LADY, HELLEN, WHO WAS ONE OF OUR PARTY, IN THE CASINO A FEW MILES AWAY AND IN A CITY OF SEVERAL MILLION, WE DID NOT EXPECT TO FIND HER AGAIN...BUT AT ANOTHER TOURIST LOCATION, WE BUMPED INTO EACH OTHER AGAIN ABOUT TWO HOURS LATER. WOW!

AT THE MARKET PLACE, JAY FOUND AN INTERESTING, EVEN DESIRABLE, NEW FRUIT, WHICH HE BOUGHT AND ATE. IT WAS KIND OF A CROSS BETWEEN AN APPLE, A PEAR AND A PLUMB. STILL DO NOT KNOW WHAT IT IS CALLED, BUT IT WAS A REDDISH PURPLE, SWEET AND DELICIOUS, BUT THE SHAPE WAS UNIQUE, PEAR-LIKE, BUT YET NOT A PEAR... DANA WOULD NOT TOUCH IT!
WHAT IS IT? WHAT IS IT'S NAME? WHO KNOWS?

WE RAN INTO SOME ELDERS IN THE QUAD AND I QUICKLY SNAPPED A PHOTO OF THEM CONTACTING. THEN I EMAILED IT LATER TO THE ELDERS, KNOWING THAT NO ONE HAD PROBABLY DONE THAT FOR THEM AND THEY COULD NOT DO IT FOR THEMSELVES. I BET THIS IS THE ONLY PHOTO OF THEM TRACTING THAT THEY WILL HAVE IN THEIR PHOTO ALBUM OF THEIR MISSIONS... THEY WERE NICE TO US AND TREATED US SPECIAL. THEY LET US TOUR THE 2ND BRANCH CHAPEL IN MACAU.

WHAT A BEAUTIFUL DAY AND THE FLOWERS IN MACAU WERE GORGEOUS...TOO.
