Office building in
Hong Kong -- on the Star Ferry. It was early morning and it was crowded on the Ferry.
When we got to
Hong Kong we walked a bit and then came
to this wonderul building in the middle of these
really tall buildings. They have three of four chapels and many sacrament meetings held every day except Monday. They have to do that because
there are so many people who are members but
don't get off of work on Sundays. Notice the architecture of this unique church building. It seems to have a chapel sitting on top of the Office Building. It was a very striking, even surprising impression for all of us, but it is in harmony with the miriade of impressive buildings in Hong Kong.

This part of the conference was all about
the English Presentations about what we had learned and used in our teaching last semester. It was really good and we received some really great ideas for next semester.
It was held in one of the chapels in the building. Down one floor, downstairs, there was a
Saturday sacrament meeting going on.

After the meeting and visiting ended we headed for the Central terminal station to get a 24 hour pass to ride this wonderful tour bus with the O'briens, Richard and Judy.
We all had such a wonderful day seeing the complete perifery of Hong Kong. We rode the Tram up the the to peak and had ice cream and saw all these wonderful buildings and people - literally thousands of people all over the place. Our tour bus was empty though because it cost us each $100 American dollars for the ride. Hong Kong is expensive. We look forward to getting back to China for that reason.
The one thing I wanted to see was the
boats with houses on them. I always thought of that as being Hong Kong. But it really doesn't excite me any more, except I liked this little cove
long the tour route. Of course we had to take some pictures because it was my idea of what Hong Kong was supposed to be.
There were people, thousands of them all over
the streets. I kept wondering how they could
get around, but they seem to tolerate and care for each other just fine.
The buildings were amazing and beautiful. We will post some of them soon...

The O'briens had been to New York and said that it far surpassed the New York buildings. The big beautiful buildings never ended. we were on the tour for 1 1/2 hours and we were always looking at these unique and wonderful taaaaaall, buildings.
The day ended in Hong Kong around 6:00 pm and then we went out to a Indian resturant. We did not take the camera, I feel really bad about that because the night was so fun and Jay was so funny and we had such a wonderful time their.

That Church is so unique. I cant believe they hold meetings on days other than Sunday. I guess they have to accommodate the culture.
I loved the chapel sitting atop the tall office bldg. How unique!
Stay safe and warm!
