HALLOWEEN - CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW?

As many of you know, Halloween is not my favorite holiday, but since we are in China I thought I should make it memorable. So this is our Halloween day in China. After going shopping at the our door market, it is getting more fun, we came home and went shopping for more paint with Elena. She is one of my students that got except to Harvard for a one year of research study. She is getting a $27,000 scholarship but that is short by $10,000. I told her to have the American thought, "If there is a will there is a way." I don't know if that applies in China,
but I hope so.

Jay went for this really long walk while we painted. When he got home he went in to watch Chinese Soccer on TV and because goals are so far between and the play by play commentary is in Chinese,
he fell asleep.

I got dinner ready for our evening with Elwin and Shirley.

Then it was time for our Halloween party. We had Spaghetti and fresh green beans and French Bread (sort of). After sitting around and talking we started doing this really exciting Halloween activity.

We worked on our cell phones to make sure we
could get hold of each other.

CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW?

We all laughed when we thought of
how unexciting it was.

On his long walkm at a far away supermarket, Jay did get find a tub of little "Snickers Bars" for dessert, which made the dinner and the evening seem a little more like Halloween.

So ends our first Halloween in China. What does the rest of the year hold for us?

What a way to spend Halloween!
At least you all got together. That's what matters!

I had chemo on Halloween and watched movies at someone's house til 11:30 pm. Nice evening!
